CALL TO WORSHIP - Rev Frederick L Munce, Superintendent of the Londonderry Methodist City Mission
Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth Psalm 124:8
Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labour in vain Psalm 127:1 a
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ
and the love of God
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be with you all.
AMEN
Dearly beloved, we are gathered to
lay the foundation stones of the new Clooney Hall Methodist Church
and Mission Centre for the worship and service of almighty God.
Therefore let us faithfully and devoutly seek his blessing on
this our undertaking.
Let us pray.
Almighty and everlasting God, ever exalted and yet always near:
Grant that we may worthily offer unto you, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these foundation stones which are laid for the building of a temple and a sanctuary where your glory shall be manifest among us, and where all people shall come to call upon your name;
through Jesus Christ our Lord
AMEN
The Lord's Prayer
Psalm 24 to be read responsively
The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it:
the compass of the world and those who dwell therein.
For he has founded it upon the seas:
and established it upon the waters.
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord:
or who shall stand in his holy place?
He that has clean hands and a pure heart:
who has not set his soul upon idols
nor sworn his oath to a lie.
He shall receive blessing from the Lord;
and recompense from the God of his salvation.
Of such a kind are this as those who seek him:
those who seek your face O God of Jacob.
Lift up your heads O you gates
and be lifted up you everlasting doors:
and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is the King of glory?:
the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty
in battle.
Lift up your heads O you gates
and be lifted up you everlasting doors:
and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is the King of glory?:
the Lord of hosts he is the King
of glory.

Let us pray.
Almighty God, ruler of all things in heaven and on earth,
giver of every good gift,
inspire the building of this Clooney Hall Methodist Church and Mission Centre
and give us the wisdom and courage to complete it.
Guide and protect all who will labour to construct this building
and grant that they may honour you
in their work.
May we be faithful stewards of everything you have entrusted to us,
that this Church and Mission Centre may be a sign of your love to all the world,
in the name of Jesus Christ,
the chief corner stone of all things
in heaven and earth AMEN.
AN ACT OF COMMITMENT
In the name of Jesus Christ,
we commit ourselves to the building of this Clooney Hall Methodist Church and Mission Centre and
we pledge our support and encouragement
to all who labour for its completion.
As we pray and work together,
we offer all we do to the glory of God,
for the service of the Church and the world,
and for the coming of the Kingdom
All things come from you, O Lord
And of your own do we give you.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
The Lord's name be praised.

Act of Stone Laying
Behold I am laying in Zion for a foundation stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone,
of a sure foundation.
Isaiah 28:16
Take heed now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary;
be strong, and do it.
1 Chronicles 28:10
Fear not, be not dismayed; for the Lord God, even my God, is with you,
He will not fail you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of God
is finished.
1 Chronicles 28:20
According to the commission of God given to me, like a skilled master builder
I laid a foundation
1 Corinthians 3:10 a
For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid,
which is Jesus Christ. 1
Corinthians 3:11
The Foundation Stones are laid, after
which shall be said with the people responding:
Praise the Lord for the foundation
of the house of the Lord is laid!
Praise the Lord. Hallelujah!
Let us pray.
Almighty God, on whom we build all our hopes for this life and that which is to come:
Visit with your loving kindness this place whereon we lay the foundation of a house to the
praise and honour of your holy name.
Accept the act by which we lay these foundation stones.
Bless those whose offerings enable us to build this house of worship and service.
Graciously guard and direct those who labour in its construction, shielding them from accident or peril.
May the walls of this building rise in security and in beauty; and may the hearts of your people
be fitly joined together into a living
temple, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone. AMEN
O Lord God, when you give to your servants to endeavour any great matter,
grant us also to know it is not the beginning, but the continuing of the same to the end, until it is thoroughly finished, which yields true glory;
through him who for the finishing of your work laid down his life,
our Redeemer Jesus Christ. AMEN.
The blessing of God,
the Father, the Son and the HolySpirit,
remain with you always. AMEN.
Go in peace to love and serve the
Lord.
In the name of Christ. AMEN
